METHOD 1 - 'First-time' installation (use these instructions if you have not previously installed PAWS Studio 01.13.xx or .lic files for PAWS 01.13.xx or higher).

METHOD 2 - Update installation (use these instructions if you've already installed PAWS Studio 01.13.xx and have already received the .lic file for PAWS Studio 01.13.xx or higher).

METHOD 1 - 'First-time' installation
- You must be logged on as a user with administrative privileges for the pc on which you are installing.

On the license server PC:

1. Pick some pc to be the license server.

2. Install PAWS Studio on that pc.
- From the PAWS Studio cd, run setup.exe
- Click next, a window with two buttons will appear. Click the top button (PAWS Studio). Follow the instructions as they appear on the screen. YOU MUST CHOOSE TYPICAL install. This will do a full installation of Studio.

3. Install TYX License Manager on that pc:
- From the PAWS Studio cd, run setup.exe
- Click next, a window with two buttons will appear. Click the lower button (License Manager). Follow the instructions as they appear on the screen.

4. Run lmhostid.exe using a dos prompt -
<usr>\tyx\Flexlm\lmhostid
This will give you the hostid for the pc. (NOTE - you must run this from a dos prompt. Double- clicking on lmhostid.exe will not show the host id).

5. Provide TYX Support your host name and lmhostid. For example:

6. TYX Support will provide you with a license file - for example: 2000999.lic
Copy this file to c:\winnt\TyxLicenses on the pc which will be your license server.

7. Start the license service
Start, Settings, Control Panel, Services, Select 'TyxLmService', Click Start, Close

8. Open an explorer, run <usr>\tyx\bin\LicMgrCfg.exe
- In the "FLEXlm Server" cell, enter the name of the license server pc
- click ok.

9. Open Studio

On each client pc -

1. Install Studio (Step 2, above).

2. Point to the server pc (Step 8, above)

3. Open Studio.

METHOD 2 - Update installation (use these instructions is you've already installed PAWS Studio 01.13.xx and have already received the .lic file for PAWS Studio 01.13.xx or higher)
