1. Install PAWS Studio.
- From the PAWS Studio cd, run setup.exe
- Click next, a window with a button will appear. Click the button (PAWS Studio). Follow the instructions as they appear on the screen. [Critical Item - For distributions of PAWS Studio provided prior to 26 July 2001, there is a window that provides a choice between "Typical" and "Update". If you are installing from a cd with this choice, YOU MUST CHOOSE TYPICAL install]. This will do a full installation of Studio.
Note - No license manager software needs to be installed for a "Nodelock" style configuration (Licensing files are
included with the PAWS installation). For "Network" (also called "Floating") configuration, the license manager software
needs to be installed only on the pc acting as the license server.
Note - If you already requested and received your key file(s), you may skips steps 2-5.
2. Run lmhostid.exe using a dos prompt -
<usr>\tyx\Flexlm\lmhostid
This will give you the hostid for the pc. (NOTE - you must run this from a dos prompt. "Double- clicking" on lmhostid.exe will not show the host id).
3. Provide TYX Support your lmhostid. For example:

4. TYX Support will provide you with a license file - for example: 2000999.lic
Create the folder 'licenses' in <usr>\tyx\
Copy the .lic file to <usr>\tyx\licenses on the pc
5. Open an explorer, run <usr>\tyx\Flexlm\LicMgrCfg.exe
- In the License Path cell, specify the path <usr>\tyx\licenses
- click ok.
Note - it's ok for the "FlexLM Server" cell to be blank.
6. Open PAWS Studio
