Delivering productivity, re-use and long-term supportability today! That's what TYX products enable. TYX products are designed with system-level testing and long lifecycle supportability requirements in mind. Whether you are in design test, production test or maintenance test, TYX software products help improve your ability to accurately and efficiently test hardware readiness.

Our software products are your solution for test software obsolescence! TYX Corporation is a proven leader in the test industry employing software technology towards the quest for greater productivity. TYX product capabilities support the sum total of all steps, procedures and life cycle factors directly related to the creation of test system products or services. Our software products are a collection of configurable product components based on open commercial standards. These open interfaces allow users to build customized test environments priced in accordance with the value added by these components. Customization may involve assembling components from multiple vendors. TYX open products interfaces provide users with a Design to Test Framework allowing export and import of test and diagnostic information. This figure depicts the TYX product suite graphically and shows the public interfaces available to other commercially available third party tools.

Many of our customers have expressed their satisfaction.

"The PAWS Developers Studio makes a big difference in our bottom line. The test engineer focuses his talents on the parts of the job only he can do, while the System does the rest."

"With the PAWS RTS Server, we created a customized HTML user interface modeled after our legacy test system. We also configured the I/O resource to handle our operator instructions & graphics. There were no new training requirements for our work force. We saved a bundle on operational & training cost."

"TestBase allows our engineers to re-use test strategies from last year's production runs. We are able to update any test parameters contained in the test database. New diagnostic strategies are easily added using the development flowchart for improved failure detection."

"We first used the TRD tool in 1987 to capture test strategies for the missile system. Today we are using the same TRDs to re-host the test sequences on a modern test platform. The TRDs, the TRD databases and the TYX tools are still in use. Imagine the cost to recreate test specifications from the legacy test code."

TYX Products support re-use, test software application longevity, software development risk reduction, data access, configuration control, user security, deployment & productivity! TYX Products are integrated with the latest proven software technologies and test industry technologies. TYX Products are continually evolved while maintaining backwards compatibility. Our software products help our users improve their ability to efficiently support test systems readiness for long life cycle products. (20+ years)

The purpose of this section is to give users a broader understanding of use of each TYX Product and certain options that comprise them. Additionally, support products, technical services and training courses are identified to complement the use of TYX products.

Automatic testing of any manufactured unit is a complex, often lengthy, process. Whether for design test, production test or maintenance testing, the following three steps are involved:

  • The creation and documentation of the testing requirements for the unit. For commercial projects, test design specifications are created using a variety of commercial standards or vendor formats. In many cases, hardware or electronic designers use CAD/CAM tools with built-in modeling capabilities. Some modeling CAD/CAM tools contain functional or parametric test simulators that create test parameters. These systems generate test strategies that may be exported to third party test tools. On military projects, test documentation is most often done using military standard documentation formats (MIL-STDS 1519), with the result being called a Test Requirements Document (TRD). TRDs capture and preserve the unambiguous tests strategies for the test units. This is required to support the unit’s testing during its long life cycle (20+ years). The TRD is written without regard to any test system or test system assets. The tests are described in terms of signals stimulus and signals measured at the unit electrical interfaces. These TRD formats are very detailed, rigid and comprehensive. Their creation manually can be very time-consuming and expensive. Additionally, the TRD may be provided in a contractor format that contains the unit test information required by MIL-STD 1519. The TYX TRD System creates Test Requirement Documents in MIL-STD 1519 or in customized contractor formats. It also imports Test Requirements Data from certain third party CAD/CAM tools. The TestBase Integrated Development Environment (IDE) captures test requirements and test parameters in an enterprise database. TestBase can also import test strategy information from third party CAD/CAM tools. TestBase contains documentation output capabilities that can be customized to vendor formats.
  • The design, coding and debugging of the test program, based on the testing requirements specified in the TRD or test design specification. This program (along with technical documentation and the hardware interface adapter) is called the Test Program Set (TPS) or test sequence. It is usually written in the ATLAS test language that is verbose and has many rules that must be followed precisely. Optionally, it can be development in any object-oriented language using signal libraries, signal components and signal methods. Thus, the process of writing, compiling and debugging the TPS or test sequences can be another long expensive task. The PAWS Developers Studio supports Test Program developed in several ATLAS subsets. TestBase supports test strategy development and subsequent test procedural development in several object oriented languages as well as third party test environments.
  • The execution of the test program or test sequence on the target test equipment hardware. This step often involves sophisticated interaction between the test program and the operating system of the test computer. Without appropriate test execution tools, the testing of the unit can be difficult, inaccurate and may require highly skilled and costly test developers/operators. The PAWS RTS Server, TestBase Diagnostic Controller, and TestBase Functional Controller are test execution environments. Additional enterprise database product components are available for data logging of test result within each of the test execution environments.
