1.0 Overview
The TYX 16 Bit Nodelock License Manager for a Single User workstation will handle the licensing requirements for the accompanying version of TYX software. The license manager may be installed on any Windows platform. It uses a non-floating license and can be obtained only by the machine on which it is installed.
2.0 Installation
To install the License Manager, complete the following steps:
1. Run setup.exe located on the License Manager disk. After initialization of the setup is done, a Welcome Screen will appear. Click on the Next button to continue installing the license manager software. After all files have been copied, an Information Screen will indicate that the PAWS Nodelock License Manager installation is completed.
2. Click on the OK button. A dialog box will ask if you want to start the PAWS Nodelock License Manager:
- If you click on NO, an information window will appear directing you to the newly created icon group in the Program Manager to start the License Manager at a later time.
- If you click on YES to start the Nodelock License Manager now, please continue with Section 3.0, Administration.
3.0 Administration
Entering Activation Keys
You must contact TYX customer support at (800) 321-7297 to obtain an activation key. The following steps will walk you through the process of obtaining the key.
1. From the PAWS Nodelock License Manager program group, select the PAWS Nodelock License Manager icon. A License Manager administration window will be created.
2. On how many hosts will you run the license server?
Select 1 and press enter.
3. A Code for the host system will be displayed. Call TYX customer support at (800) 321-7297 with the Code and the TYX Serial Number for your distribution and you will be issued an activation key. The TYX Serial Number can be found on the distribution media or accompanying shipping document.
4. Enter the activation key and press Enter. To exit the window, choose File \ Exit from the menu bar.
5. TYX Customer Support will fax or e-mail your activation key to you for your records.
4.0 Uninstallation
In the event that you need to uninstall the PAWS Nodelock License Manager:
1. Delete the files elmadmin.exe and elmid16.dll. They are located in the Windows system directory (usually c:\windows\system).
2. Delete the directory "tyxlm" and all of its contents. It is located in the Windows directory (usually c:\windows).
3. Finally, remove the Start Menu program group and icon.
5.0 Considerations
1. In some rare situations, a System Error occurs indicating that the installation program "Cannot read from drive d", where d is letter of your CD-ROM drive. Select Cancel and the installation program will continue.
